Safety-Driven Design
MX3 features two 5mm acrylic baffles on each side of the machine so that you can safely monitor the engraving process. Each axis is equipped with a limit/home switch that stops the tool spindle from leaving the engraving area.

With one mouse click, MX3 will automatically return to a predefined position, allowing you to easily change and calibrate your tools - a feature you will not find in a generic 3018 machine.
Laser Engraving Support

I had been looking at DYI CNC systems for a while, mainly for small wood projects and plexiglass applications and I finally settled on the MX3 (purchased on Amazon). Definitely glad I did and in just a few days I am amazed how much I have been able to accomplish!! Unboxing was a breeze, and all items were very well protected. Instructions were very detailed and easy to follow. I used the PDF instructions that were on the CD to compliment the booklet because some of the pictures were had to see due to the small size. I was up and running fairly quickly: * Unboxing and inventory - 15 minutes * Mechanical assembly - 1 hour * Wiring - 20 minutes (great wire management) * Software configuration - 30 minutes. I am using Easel for my designs, and Drufelcnc (included in the CD) for the code processor. It has worked very well. The reasons I decided to go with this specific machine are safety and ease of use related: * Included side panels * Included min and max switches (actual working area is 266 x 156.5 x 37 mm, but not an issue for me) * Included Z probe * Special attention to detail in wire management * Ability to easily zero X and Y and return to the same position to start another project on the same material * Ability to add a laser at a later date A few things to note and possible improvements: * I wish the software and instructions came in a USB drive or a link to download. I spent about 1 hr in my basement looking for the old portable CD Rom. * When not in use, the Z probe is on the way - you can 3D print a mount so it is out of the way * The board is not covered - you can cnc or or 3D print a cover Overall, I am very impressed with this machine and the future capabilities. I purchased my Ender 3 from SainSmart, so I knew this would be a quality product. As long as you do your research and you are aware of the limitations, you will love this CNC Router!

United StatesThe kit was fun to put together and instructions were well written. Customer service gets back quick if you have any issue. I would recommend them. Sturdy little machine too. I was up and running after a few hours from unboxing.
United StatesI used this to do some engraving both south’s v bit and a flat bit. So far this machine runs well. Easy to assembling. The finish product looks good. Smooth and clear. I learned a lot after I had this. The price is right for a small hobby CNc to learn on and get a feel to be a real CNC. It also comes with some instruction and kit. Nice to have.

United KingdomGreat CNC for doing projects. Need to learn the Mach 3 software to get the full potential of the MX3 CNC. Found sainsmart in November and has some really interesting items. Will Shop again with them if anything else takes my fancy.
United KingdomBuild didnt take long, Mach3 was very simple to use although a little scary to start with, best advice, watch a few youtube vids first. Only issue was with setting probe, when starting Mach3 it threw a probe error, took quite a while to figure out, so removed the probe.txt from Mach3 folder and all was good. Would certainly recommend so far, lots of reviews seem to say that Mach 3 is complicated, it isn't, at least I dont think it is, just need to understand what it does.
