Quality Z-Axis control and 52mm clamp

This design aids in cooling the 52mm Spindle Motor as well as being a solid mount. The build provides movement without vibration and includes limit switches.

Built like a tank

The spindle holder is very solid and well built. I've not yet installed it, but it seems much heavier than the stock plastic one. While it comes with limit switches, there's no documentation on how to wire them to the 3018-pro controller. The 3018-Pro has two connections, these limit switches have 3, labelled 12V, GND and IN. It appears that IN can be connected to the Z axis limit switch inputs top row and GND can be connected to the bottom row, which is ground. It appears that the only purpose of the 12V connection is to provide power for a small blue LED next to each switch that lights when the switch is tripped. I have found that the LEDs work fine with 5V which is available on the header with the limit switch inputs. However, there is a problem with the 3018-Pro controller, both Z axis limit switch inputs are in parallel and if either switch is tripped, both LEDs light. To get around this I installed a couple small diodes.
